Radio Specialisation

Students pursuing a degree in Media and Communication and specialising in Radio are introduced to the studio, analogue radio, digital radio, basic programme formats, elements of scriptwriting, presentation, interviewing techniques, articulation and research for radio programmes. The students are also taught editing skills and are required to produce a digital 30 minute radio documentary programme as a final project. Other products produced by radio students include: public service announcements (PSAs), features and newscasts. The programme prepares students primarily for roles as producers, scriptwriters, reporters and presenters.
